Lane Types

Scratch

Most basic lane type. You can control the volume of the resulting sound and smoothness of the position interpolation. Lesser smooth value produces the sound with more high frequencies.

Speed

Another basic playback type. Starts playing from the position in the sound that you selected with touch. Vertical position controls playback speed, horizontal parameter is assignable.

Granular Freeze

Allows you to select the sound at some position and use both x and y coordinates of touch as 2 independent parameters. You can control volume, playback speed (pitch) and the grain size.

By default you can control the volume with vertical touch position (or speed on the central lane) and grain size with the horizontal parameter.

The 2D control for freeze-typed lane appears when you make a drag gesture over it. Please note that the horizontal parameter is not bipolar and works the same way in left or right direction.

Granular Scrub

This type of lane is very similar to granular freeze but it allows to change the position of the grain after its start. Though it doesn’t have the secondary, ‘horizontal’ parameter to control so you can choose only one parameter (and use the sliders on the left side of the lane if you need more)

By default you can control the volume with vertical touch position (or speed on the central lane).

Granular Stream

This lane type enables granular playback with random parameters. You can randomise grain position in the selected range, speed, grain size and pan. There is special control for that type lane. The 2-dimensional slider is assignable so you can change 2 parameters for each touch independently.

FFT Freeze

In both FFT types of lanes another algorithm is used to process sound. In both FFT Freeze and Scrub sound is analyzed with the FFT transform and divided into frames. FFT Freeze allows you to select the frame at the desired sample position and it will play it, making the sound “freeze” at this point.

By default you can control the volume with vertical touch position (or pitch shift on the central lane). There is no “grain size” control in this algorithm but it allows some FFT-specific effects like phase randomization and spectral gate.

FFT Scrub

This type of lane is very similar to FFT freeze, as in the pair granular freezegranular scrub — you get the control of the position of the sound after you start it but the ability to control second parameter is not present here (except the lane sliders - read more here)

Looper

This lane type allows you to make loops / repeat large grains of sound and it works a little bit differently compared to others.
When you touch a looper lane, a new looper control is created and is kept there until you turn it off with the red ‘close’ button.
Use triangle marks on the edges of the looper control to move / resize it. Smaller control with line and circle is a slider for loop speed (0x - 4x) and the larger one affects its volume. Buttons below are used to restart (!<), pause (||) and reverse the loop (<<)
Please note that when the grid / snap is enabled (see grid) the looper is created with the 4x grid step size (i.e. it will be 2 second loop for the 120 BPM tempo value).

FFT Looper

This lane works the same way as 'Looper' one but it allows to change speed of playback while keeping the pitch constant. It uses the same algorithm as all other FFT-based lanes.
